Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #543

Hey there, it’s Teri here with your flash briefing for Thursday. And today, I want to tell you about a little bit of research that has been done recently about purchasing things through voice.

So, there was a survey that was done of almost 6,200 people, and these people included Canadians.

It was people from the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Austria, and Bulgaria. And, it was quite a comprehensive survey to look at how people are using voice technology to buy things. It was done by Paysafe.

And here’s some of the key stats, very interesting. 57% of shoppers said they would use voice technology such as Alexa to pay for low value goods and services.

They also found that 1 in 10 have used voice to confirm their identity when purchasing goods online.

53% believe that doing so it’s quicker and more convenient than traditional payment methods.

It was quite a comprehensive survey to look at how people are using voice technology to buy things.

Voice Payments Have Arrived

And, 62% further said that a greater choice of verification methods such as voice or fingerprinting would make them feel more secure.

And 81% though, still feel most comfortable if a password is included in the process.

So, these are very interesting stats. I think these will be very interesting to follow over the next, you know, six months to a year, to see if more and more people are becoming more comfortable with purchasing through voice.

When you think back to the first time that you put a credit card online, and how apprehensive, at least I know I was, and now I do it all the time.

I imagine that it’s going to go the same way with voice purchasing as well.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Send me a message on Twitter @DrTeriFisher, and let’s chat about it. Alright?

Have a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
