Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #102
So here’s a great product of that I wanted to tell you about. If you have been following Alexa in Canada for some time, you know that I’m a big fan of the TP link line of smart lights and smart switches.
But one of the issues previously was that if you had a dimmable light, they did not have a dimmable smart switch.
So you either had the option of changing a light bulb or changing a switch, but the switch was just on and off.
Anyway they now have a smart dimmable switch. So it’s a switch with a dimmer.
It’s called the TP link, smart WiFi light switch with dimmer. And the model number is HS220.
So this is really great, I personally have not picked one up yet, but I’d like to, I want to use this for some of my light switches that do have dimmers on them.
You can control this obviously through your voice with Alexa.
So you can program the dimming, you can control this obviously through your voice with Alexa.
And one of the cool things is that apparently it has some sort of feature where it will gently fade off the lights with a particular function.
So that for example, if you have a young child and they don’t like to go to sleep in the dark, you could actually set this to very, very gradually fade out and they’ll gradually turn off.

Check out they’ve got, as you may know, they’ve got the on and off switches. They’ve also got the three way switches, which is if you need two switches at the end of a hall where they both control the same light, TP link has that as well.
It’s part of the same series and now they’ve got the dimmers as well. So it’s pretty good line.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
