Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #52
Hey there, what’s up everybody. Today I’ve got a little bit of news for you, as I get deeper and deeper into the Alexa scene, I have become aware of different conferences and different events and meetings that one can attend.
To learn more about Alexa and one of the conferences is the Alexa Conference.
It’s hard to say this without saying the word, but it’s basically The Alexa Conference and this is being held in 2019 from January 15th to 17th to be exact in Tennessee and I’ve already got my ticket for that.
So I’m really excited. This is I think the third or fourth, I have lost track now how many times they’ve had this conference.
In any case, it has received excellent reviews and it’s put on by Voice First FM, as you may know my podcast is part of the Voice First FM network.
I think it’s a great way to recognize people that are doing fantastic work in this space.
That’s not the news though, the news that I want to share with you, is the fact that Voice First FM has created awards.
The Alexa awards and nominations are now open for the awards. There are tons of different categories and it’s very cool.
They actually have over 50 categories and just to give you an idea of the type of awards that they have.
They have the overall skill of the year, the overall developer of the year for large and small corporations.
The executive of the year, marketer, academic, analysts, trainer, website of the year, commentator of the year, and then they’ve got the developer of the year in all different categories and the best skill of the year in all different categories and there are more, there more and more awards.
So I want to tell you this because the nominations are now open. If you have a ticket to the conference any nomination is free, if you don’t, there’s a charge of $49 US.
But if you go to www.VoiceFirst.fm, you will see all the details. There is a link on the menu bar to Alexa Conference and you can click on the conference and information about the awards, check it out.
I think it’s a great way to recognize people that are doing fantastic work in this space. Talk to you tomorrow.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
