Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #214
Alright, well it’s time for some rumors. Here is what is the latest ongoing on with Amazon and the Echo devices. CNBC recently announced that, at least according to them, according to their sources, Amazon is planning to release at least eight new Alexa powered devices before the end of the year, eight of them.
That’s incredible. And some of these are going to include a microwave oven, an amplifier, a receiver, a subwoofer, some type of in-car gadget and others. And, so this is really interesting because Amazon is actually going to be going into direct competition with manufacturers like Sonos, and so on, and even GE who already has a smart microwave.
So, this is really in line with Amazon and Jeff Bezos’ mission to get Alexa everywhere. And, boy, putting it into all these different devices and making them available, sure is one way to do that.
Now here’s the question for us Canadians as always, who knows which of these are going to be coming to Canada right away or ever, but all I can say is that you know, Amazon does have a history of releasing new hardware products, usually in the fall some time, often times towards the end of September, early October.
So stay tuned, I’ll be sure to keep you updated about what is going on in this regard, but that’s pretty exciting. There’s a lot that is certainly going to be happening here when it comes to Alexa devices.
