Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #385
Hey there. I hope you are having a great weekend. It’s Teri here with your flash briefing for Sunday. And, as you know, on Sundays I like to take this opportunity to answer questions from the community.
Today’s question comes from the Facebook community page, and if you want to join that by the way, you just go to VoiceinCanada.ca/Community. This question is from Andy Kerr, and I’ll read you his question.
It says, “Hello, my question is as follows, I’ve created a skill, a flash briefing, which intended to offer weekly updates for the town for which I work”, which by the way Andy, it’s a great idea. It’s a great flash briefing.
“I used a recorded voice. My question is whether after publishing the skill I can update the audio at any time. Thanks” Well, Andy, this is a great question, and if I’m understanding your question correctly, you’re wondering about if you can change the content or change the voice.
I’m not entirely 100% sure about your question, but I think what you’re getting at, is can you change the voice? Well, the answer is, yes, if you used a recorded voice (that’s your voice or someone else’s voice) then one of the big benefits of a flash briefing, of course, is that it is dynamic content.
You change the content and you upload the latest episode so that people that listen to it have the most current information. Now, if in the sense of you’re saying it’s a recorded voice, I don’t think you’re meaning a text-to-speech voice, and I don’t think you’re referring to Alexa’s voice, but if you are, there are certain ways that you can change Alexa’s voice using what is known as SSML.
One of the big benefits of a flash briefing is that it is dynamic content.

It’s a very simple type of coding. You can search for that, and it’s using different types of tags in the language, you can change the sound of the audio as well. I hope that answered your question.
Now, if it didn’t, you may not be aware and some of the listeners may not be aware that I have a complete a flash briefing course at FlashBriefingFormula.com where I go through these things that we’ve just been talking about.
I go through all the technical aspects, essentially from how to start to record, how to mix your audio, how to upload the audio, how to schedule the audio, and everything with videos that show you exactly where to click.
So you do not need to have any technical knowledge of basically anything. You can just follow along with the course and I will teach you exactly how to do it. So you may be interested in checking that out.
It’s FlashBriefingFormula.com. It is entirely free at this time, so I encourage you to check it out, take advantage of it, and I hope that will help you to produce an even better flash briefing. Alright, take care. Talk to you tomorrow.
