Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #144
Okay, I got a quick flash briefing for you today. As you know, I have been doing some, flash briefings about different commands that you can ask Alexa and I want to cover just a few, quick commands here that you can say to Alexa that will help you to get your news.
A lot of this does tie in with flash briefings and I’ve spoken about flash briefings a lot. I think flash briefings are incredible.
It’s a way to customize what you get in terms of your information on a daily basis. So once you have set up your flash briefing, of course you can say, Alexa, what’s my flash briefing?
And she will go through those various news stories or those flash briefings that you have enabled, as you were doing right now.
And I assume when you’re listening to this flash briefing, you can also say, Alexa, what’s in the news?
So it’s more conversational as if you were going up to somebody.
And she will give you your flash briefings as well. You can say, Alexa, what’s new and same deal. She’ll give you your flash briefings. And this one’s kind of interesting.
If you say, Alexa, what’s up? She kind of gives you a current status of various things, including the time, the weather, and if there are any interesting news headlines that have come up in the last little while, she gives it to you.
So it’s more conversational as if you were going up to somebody and say,” hey, what’s up?” And they kind of said, well, I don’t know, it’s seven 45 now.
It’s kind of rainy and you know, I heard this funny story, or there’s this interesting story, that’s kind of the gist of what happens when you say what’s up.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
