Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #435
Hello. And, it’s Teri here, as usual, giving you your flash briefing for Monday. Hope you are having a great start to your week. And today, I want to tell you just about a little quick story that I saw online.
And this is about Jeff Bezos, the founder, and CEO of Amazon. I have spoken about him occasionally on the flash briefing, and you know, a lot of what Amazon has been able to achieve I think really it comes down to Jeff Bezos as an entrepreneur.
He really is a forward thinker, and as you know, I mean, the fact is, he has created this Amazon Alexa ecosystem along with other major manufacturers, Google, and Samsung to a lesser degree and Apple to a lesser degree.
But nevertheless, Jeff has been instrumental in developing this whole industry, this new smart speaker industry, because he is so forward thinking. And, there was an article that I just saw, and it talks about Jeff Bezos’ attitude towards failing as a company when they try new things.
And, in his letter to his shareholders, which was dated on April 11th, he says that as Amazon grows, so does the size of its failed experiments. He said that Amazon is willing to continue to take risks and learn from its failures, while simultaneously supporting successful areas of its business, like its third-party sellers and retail locations.
He has created this Amazon Alexa ecosystem along with other major manufacturers.

So, what I take away from that, is that they are willing to really redefine complete industries. And when you think about how he basically redefined books, that’s why Amazon started, and he’s redefined the retail industry.
He has redefined the smart speaker or basically started the smart speaker industry along like I said with Google and other manufacturers. And, there are other areas that I see hints of that he is getting into.
I think he’s getting into robotics. You may have seen some pictures of him visiting some leading robotic manufacturers. And I have to wonder if at some point here in the near future we’re going to be seeing Alexa as part of a robot so that Alexa can actually move with you in your home.
You know, that would be a perfect example of something that would be a big risk for Amazon to take but could have huge rewards. Anyway, I wanted to share that information with you. I thought it’s interesting.
I thought it gives a lot of perspective on the way that Amazon goes about doing things, and I think that we are in for some real surprises as this year progresses in terms of what Amazon is going to be releasing to us.
Okay. Have a great day. Enjoy your week. And, if you get a chance to leave a review again, that’s always welcome, VoiceinCanada.ca. Thanks very much.
