Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #36
Happy Monday, welcome to the new week. Today there is a brand new product being released by Ecobee and I wanted to tell you all about it because it looks a very, very cool.
It’s called the Ecobee smart light switch plus, so it’s switched with the little plus sign and the really neat thing about this switch is that Alexa is actually built right into the switch.
So when you put that switch, when you install it on your wall, Alexa is now living in that switch on your wall.
So you actually don’t need an Echo device for that room where you have that switch.
Now having said that, the speaker in that switch obviously can’t be that big.
So it’s probably not going to be too fantastic for listening to music, but as far as controlling things and getting information and using Alexa as your assistant, I think this is a real winner.
The really neat thing about this switch is that Alexa is actually built right into the switch.
In addition to having Alexa built in, well first of all, it gives you all of the functionality of having Alexa anywhere else.
But this light switch also has some really cool features, so it’s got a timer so that you can set it for when you want the lights to go on and off, for example, you can set the lights to go on at sunset.
But here’s another really cool thing about this. It actually has a motion detector so you can set it if you want that when you walk in the room it automatically sees you and then it can turn the lights on automatically.
And then you can set it on a timer so that after a certain length of time of no motion being detected ie, you’ve left the room, it can turn off automatically.
They also say that, there will be an upgrade to this coming where it will be able to sense the temperature and be able to communicate that with other smart home devices.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
