Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #66
April 25th, 2018 this day is going to go down in history in Amazon Alexa news as the day that the first Echo device with a screen is actually available in Canada.
Now, you know, we had been waiting a long time for the Echo Spot and I did recently talk about the fact that it was coming to Canada.
Well today, April 25th, is the day that you can officially purchased the Echo Spot in Canada and it’s also the day that of course you can purchase it from Amazon and it will be delivered and if you’ve pre ordered it, it should be delivered today.
So just briefly, if you’ve been following along, you know what the Echo Spot is, but this is really, really big news.
So I thought it was worth highlighting the fact that it is available today. Again, the Echo Spot is about a softball size Echo device.
It does everything that the regular Echo or the, you know, the traditional Echo and the Echo Dot can do but on top of that its’ got a little screen and so with that screen you get both the, of course the audio feedback from Alexa, but you get visual feedback as well.
You can see your calendar if you ask for it.

You can see timers, see alarms. It looks great with a little clock faces like an alarm clock.
You will be able to as skills come online, that have a video components such as cameras to look at a nursery or to look at your front door camera security camera or to even use it to do some video calling with other people that have Echo Spot devices.
This is really, really powerful and this is just the beginning.So it’s very, very exciting news. Like I said, it is available here now.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
