Alright. Today, let’s talk about the latest Echo Plus device released from Amazon. It’s actually available for pre-order today, and it will be available to get in your hands October 11th. So the Echo Plus, what’s the Echo Plus? If you know from the previous version, the first generation, it’s basically an Echo device and it has a smart home hub built in.
So, it’s great for controlling your smart home devices, and as you may know, Amazon is very, very aggressively trying to take control of the smart home market. So, the new Echo Plus has got a new design. It’s a little bit more curved, it looks a lot like the Echo does and it’s got the different fabric finishes.
Again, you’ve got the darker charcoal, the medium heathered gray or the light sandstone. And, the really key thing about the Echo Plus is that it has a built in Zigbee hub, so that allows you to easily set up and control your smart home devices.
Amazon has really gone a long way to try to make the setup of smart home devices as simple as possible, and in fact, at their launch event last week, they showed how you can pair an Echo Plus or any Echo device for that matter with a smart plug in under 20 seconds just by voice.
Now, the thing about the Echo Plus, is, of course, it has the Zigbee smart home hub so you can control other Zigbee devices, whether those are locks, lights, thermostats, whatever the case may be. And, one of the other really cool things about the Echo Plus is it has a built-in temperature sensor.
It has a smart home hub built in, so it’s great for controlling your smart home devices.
So if you want to control your smart home thermostats, let’s say for example, based on a temperature that the hub senses, that can be done automatically with this device. The other thing that you can do is you can compare two of these with the new Echo Sub and we’ll talk about that in a later flash briefing, but it allows you to have a 2.1 stereo surround system.
So the least price for the Echo Plus is one CAD 199.99, as I said, it will be released October 11th. You can pre-order it now. they do have a deal. If you go to the website, you can see if you can get it for the same price, but it includes a free smart bulb. So that’s a savings of about 20 bucks or so, and they also have an option where you can buy two of them with the Echo Sub.
That’s pricey to get all that, but you actually save $130. The price is still $439.97, but anyway, the basic Echo Plus with a smart bulb right now, you can get it for $199.99. To go there, you just simply type in AlexainCanada.ca/Echo
