Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #112
Happy Sunday. On Sunday. I do try to keep these flash briefings a little more light.
And if you’ve been listening along for the last couple of days and by the way, if you haven’t, you can also check out older flash briefings at VoiceinCanada.ca.
But that aside, if you have been listening the last couple of days, you’ll know that I have been highlighting various commands that you can give to Alexa.
Well, today I want to talk about a command or series of commands that are really just more for fun.
These commands are typically known as Easter eggs, meaning that they’re kind of fun little treasures that you find when you talk to Alexa.
And there are tons of these, probably hundreds if not thousands of them, but I’m going to highlight a few of them today and perhaps over the next little while or highlight some other Easter egg commands as well.
So let’s get right to it. These are some things that you can say to Alexa. I’m not going to tell you what she says.
You’re gonna have to try them out yourself because what would be the fun if am telling you that. But here is what you can say.
Series of commands that are really just more for fun.

You can say, “Alexa, give me an Easter egg”. And that sort of a clue to get other little treasures or clues to help you find other treasures that Alexa can do.
Here’s a series of other things that you can say. You can say “Alexa, testing one, two, three”.
Alexa, Good Morning” “Alexa, Good night” Alexa, I’m home”. “Alexa, I have a cold” “Alexa, Thanks” “Alexa, tell me a joke”.
And if you don’t know, you can actually ask for a specific joke. So you could say, “tell me a hockey joke” or you could pick a topic of your choice or tell me a riddle.
Knock, knock you can say, “Alexa, beam me up” or “Alexa, set phasers to kill”.
So there’s actually a lot of movie references and TV show references. So if you can think of I guess a well known quote in pop culture, you could try saying that to Alexa and you know, there’s a good chance that she will have some type of response to that.
So try those out. Have some fun today and I will continue to give you some more Easter eggs over the next few weeks and months.
And as long as Alexa’s here producing Easter eggs, I’ll be sharing them with you. Take care.
