Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #111

All right. So in keeping with the theme of commands this week, let’s cover another area of commands that you can give to Alexa that are going to help you to enjoy the audio a little bit more.

Today let’s talk about some of the Bluetooth commands that you can use.

Now just before we get into that, I will mention that the Echo devices also have three millimeter auxiliary audio output jacks at the back.

So if you do not want to use a Bluetooth and you want a more direct connection, which actually probably is going to be more stable than using Bluetooth and you’ve got your Echo device next to a better quality speaker.

So this is particularly useful if you have the Echo Dot right where the speaker isn’t that great.

You can plug it directly into the Dot. You can plug the Dot directly into that external speaker and you’re gonna get better audio.

Echo devices also have three millimeter auxiliary audio output jack.

Bluetooth Commands

Now if you do have a Bluetooth system, and that’s actually what I have in my home, you can simply put your device, your external speaker onto the Bluetooth pairing mode, whatever that is for that device.

And then you can say “Alexa pair” or “Alexa Bluetooth” or “Alexa connect to my speaker” wanted, has paired for the first time, that last command connect to my speaker will then always be available to you.

So you can say “Alexa, connect from my speaker” or “connect to my speaker” “Alexa, disconnect from my speaker”.

And it’s very simple then and Alexa just disconnects and connects as you request. You can also say “Alexa, discover my devices” and that can be useful as well.

Finally, you can also use Bluetooth commands to pair Alexa to your mobile phone.

So when you get your mobile phone on the Bluetooth pairing mode, you can say, “Alexa, discover my devices” or “Alexa Bluetooth”.

And then once it has connected to the phone, similarly you can say, “Alexa connect to my phone” and “Alexa disconnect from my phone” and that can be very useful.

You can actually use Alexa then as a speakerphone for when you are making your phone calls.

So again, hope that’s helpful for you and we got more commands coming your way tomorrow. Take care.
