Alright, let’s talk about our kids and how Alexa can be used safely with the kids.
So you may know, that in the United States, Amazon has this service called the Freetime Unlimited. And, it basically is an all-in-one subscription that gives kids access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, and so on. And, they can enjoy a lot of this content on their Alexa devices.
This has been available for a while in United States, but it hasn’t been available in Canada.
Well, here’s the news, and this probably has a little bit more strength to it than just the rumor, because it was reported by MobileSyrup.com that Amazon has trademarked Amazon Freetime Unlimited with the Canadian intellectual property office, Meaning this is likely in the process of coming to Canada.
Amazon is making the effort to bring this kid friendly approved content to Canada.
Now, in the US, Freetime Unlimited starts at $3 US per month, and if the service does come to Canada, there probably will be some sort of subscription fee.
It’s hard to say how much that will be, but it is interesting because it shows that Amazon is making the effort to bring this kid friendly approved content to Canada, which of course, will be available on the Echo devices.
So stay tuned, of course, I will keep you updated if I hear anymore about this, or when it is actually launched and yeah, I will keep you updated.

1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
