Hey there. And, It’s Teri here, as usual, with your flash briefing. I don’t know who it would have been otherwise today, but anyway, it’s Teri here with your flash briefing on Monday, December 17th. And, I have a little bit of a story to tell you about actually with regards to Alexa, and this is really interesting. I don’t know if you know this, but a little while back when Amazon released all their big products for the year.

They had that big event and they released multiple products, but they’re also a number of software announcements that they made. And one of them was Alexa Hunches, which is an AI type of interaction that Alexa can suggest things for you if she feels that something is going to be of use to you.

I hadn’t actually even really known that this was available in Canada yet, but just the other night, apparently, this has been available in Canada now, because I’m saying to Alexa, “Alexa, set an alarm for 6:00 AM” and Alexa says, “Okay, you know, I set the alarm” and then, all of a sudden without any prompting, Alexa says to me, “Oh, by the way, your front door is unlocked. Would you like me to lock it for you?”

his was strictly Alexa learning what I do at night, that I set an alarm before I go to bed, and then, Alexa was checking to see if my doors were locked.

And, I was actually blown away by this because I did not initiate this in any way. This was strictly Alexa learning what I do at night, that I set an alarm before I go to bed, and then, Alexa was checking to see if my doors were locked. This was fascinating and my wife actually was extremely impressed by this. So, I did not know this was available in Canada. Anyway, it’s there.

I’d love to hear if you have experienced this as well or if this was some sort of trial that I was eligible for or whatever, but I thought it was absolutely fascinating. So, if you have experienced this, let me know.
