Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #390
Hey there and welcome to today’s flash briefing. If my voice sounds a little bit different today, it’s because I’m just getting over a cold, and anyway, my apologies. I’ve got a really cool piece of news for you today.
One of the features that have been in the states for a while, but has not yet been in Canada, at least officially on the Alexa app, is the idea of hunches. And, I just downloaded the latest version of the Alexa app here on my iPhone, and now when you go into the menu setting and you scroll down, you can actually see an option called hunches.
So what are hunches, first of all? Well, hunches are a way for Alexa to alert you if something seems to be out of place with regards to some of your smart home devices.
So, for example, if you say to Alexa, “Good night or set an alarm” and Alexa notices that you have a light on that you normally turn off at night, she can then ask you if you would like her to turn off the light for you.
You can always choose to say yes to one of these hunch suggestions if you will.
So she’s being a little bit proactive. Now, you can always choose to say yes to one of these hunch suggestions if you will, or no, or you can choose to ignore it, but it’s very simple to enable this feature.
You simply go into the Alexa, you click on the menu icon, you go down, you’ll see hunches, you click on hunches, and you simply turn on the switch that says enabled.
And once that’s done, Alexa can start to look out for you and your smart home devices. Hope you find that helpful, and I will have another tip for you on the new app coming up very soon. Alright, take care. Sorry about the voice again.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
