Brief mode is finally here. I know a lot of people have been asking about this; “When is brief mode going to be here in Canada” Well, Alexa can now have brief mode enabled. So, what is brief mode; Brief Mode is a setting that you can enable in your Alexa app that allows Alexa to speak less and for some simple messages she will just play a brief sound instead of a voice response.

So, if you get tired of hearing the same response when you ask her to do something, or you just want to be a little bit more efficient, or have something happen a little bit more quickly, that would be a perfect situation for you to enable brief mode. So, of course, the next question is, well, how do you do that?

Well, it’s very simple, of course, you go into your Alexa app, you click on settings, and you can either get to settings through the menu hamburger icon, and then click on settings, or you click in the little gear icon, in the bottom right-hand corner of your Alexa app, then the top option you’re gonna see “Alexa account”.

So, tap on Alexa account, and then once you do that you’re going to see another series of menus and click on Alexa voice responses. When you click on that, the rest is easy. You’ll see, it says “brief mode” right there, and this little slide, turn it on or off.

So, that’s it. You turn it on and then for some responses when you talk to Alexa, she will give you a tone instead of a voice response and there you go. That’s how you do it. I know it was a big feature request for a lot of Canadians, and it’s here. So, give it a shot and let me know what you think. Take care.
