Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #561

Well, yet another device has recently been announced that includes Alexa as a way to control it, and this is the new Bose portable home speaker.

It basically is a battery powered WiFi and Bluetooth speaker, built in voice control, Airplay to Spotify connect, and of course, you can use this with Alexa and Google Assistant.

And it’s interesting, because we’re starting to see a pattern here. More and more manufacturers are starting to have multiple platforms built in so that people can choose which of these assistants they want to use.

The idea behind it is actually somewhat waterproof.

Bose Portable Home Speaker Announced

The speaker itself looks like a cylinder, it’s 2.3 pounds, and the idea behind it is actually somewhat waterproof, so that it is great to be able to carry it around with you, being battery powered, and you can take it outside.

So there’s a lot of great features about this. It is scheduled to go on sale September 19th. The US price is $349.

I don’t know yet about Canadian price, but if this is the kind of thing that you’re looking for, a portable speaker that has Alexa built in, and has some water resistant capability to it, you may be very interested in this.

I will keep you updated on this product. Until then, talk to you tomorrow.
