Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #530

Well it looks like Amazon and Google are starting to play nice, at least in a few instances. Just recently, it was officially announced that now, and it was actually announced by both Amazon and Google, that they would be launching the YouTube app, and the ability to watch YouTube videos on the Amazon Fire TV.

So, that’s a big step because before they were not allowing each other to have each other’s content on each other’s devices if you’re following me. Here’s the cool part.

So, if you have Fire TV, you can simply go to your apps and channels row, and you can find the new YouTube app.

And, of course, you can use Alexa to now control your ability to watch the YouTube videos.

And so, some of the commands that you can use for that are, “Alexa, open YouTube. Alexa, show soccer highlights on YouTube. Alexa, find cooking videos on YouTube.”

And you can also control the playback. So you can say, “Alexa resume. Alexa rewind 15 seconds. Alexa next video”, and so on.

So if you like watching YouTube, and you want to control it by voice, and you’ve got Fire TV, then you are pretty much set.

You can use Alexa to now control your ability to watch the YouTube videos.

YouTube App Launches on Fire TV
