Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #427
Hey there. I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend. Happy Easter, if you’re celebrating Easter today. Happy Passover, if you are in the middle of Passover. I hope you’re doing well. Today, on Sundays, I like to answer questions from the community.

Today’s question comes from Anthony Hossein. I hope I pronounced your name right, Anthony, but Anthony asks, “Has anyone gotten presence, arrival, and leaving to work on Alexa?”
Great question. So first of all, what is that? The idea behind this is that you could trigger some smart home actions, based on the location of your phone, the geolocation of your phone using the GPS. So, I’ll just give you an example.
If you came home, maybe Alexa could sense your presence based on the location of your phone.
If you came home, maybe Alexa could sense your presence based on the location of your phone, and turn on your lights automatically. That would be great, and it does work in the United States.
So, unfortunately, Anthony, this doesn’t yet work in Canada. I imagine this is a feature that they’re trying to activate in Canada, at some point. It’s gotta be on the road map of Amazon, but the bottom line is, unfortunately, it’s not available right now in Canada.
I want to thank, Cathy and David for contributing their responses in the Facebook group, but there you go, Anthony. So that’s the answer and not yet. I’ll keep my fingers crossed because I’d love to have this feature as well.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
