Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #421

Hey there, it’s Teri here. And today on the flash briefing, I have another rumor, but it comes from a pretty good source, and this all has to do with Amazon’s version of Apple AirPods.

So you’ve all seen the AirPods, the little white headphones without any clip that goes around above the ear, just sits in the ear and they’ve become very, very good sellers from Apple.

Well, according to Bloomberg, Amazon is set to launch its own version of wireless headphones similar to Apple’s AirPods. They’re designed to sit in the ear, similar to Apple, and of course, these are going to be powered by Alexa.

So, you will be able to use your voice to do all the kinds of things that you have come to expect from Alexa, whether it’s talking to Alexa, buying items, or listening to the news.

Apparently, there is also going to be some physical gesture controls to play music and to answer calls, but an always-on Alexa command will be available, which is pretty cool.

It’s rumored that these will come in black and grey. And probably one of the most interesting parts of this is that knowing Amazon’s history of how they release products, and the way they priced them, think of Apple’s HomePod, which is hundreds of dollars versus the Amazon Echo Dot, which of course is way under 100 bucks.

You will be able to use your voice to do all the kinds of things that you have come to expect from Alexa.

Amazon AirPods Rival Rumoured to be Coming

And, we’ll have to see, but if Amazon is going to release these earphones the way that they have a history of doing so, I wouldn’t be surprised if the price of these are much less than what Apple is currently charging for their AirPods.

So stay tuned. I will try to keep you updated if I find out anything else, but until then, you’ll have to stick with your AirPods or whatever else you’ve got. Now, before I sign off, I do want to give another shout out.

I want to thank this person very much. This shout out goes to Giselle Brogan. She gave a five-star review to the flash briefing. She wrote, “Love this. To the point. All you need to know info on Alexa for users in Canada.” Thanks very much, Giselle. Really, really appreciate it.

As I said before, my shout outs here are just a simple way of saying thank you for taking the time to do so, and as usual, if you want to be part of this, and you want to leave a review, I’m very, very thankful for every single one of those.

You just go to VoiceinCanada.ca and you can click on the button in the middle of the page, the red button that says, “Leave a review” Right. Talk to you tomorrow. Oh, we’ve got a very, very cool podcast episode tomorrow before I sign off.
