Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #409

Hello, hello, and welcome to today’s flash briefing. It’s Teri here. It is April 3rd and more news about French language support in Canada. As you know, this was officially announced recently to our Alexa devices, at least those without a screen, officially from Amazon, just in the last week or two.

But, those with Sonos speakers were wondering, “Hey, what do we do?” Well, the good news is, French Canadian language support by Alexa is now available on the Sonos speakers in Canada.

So, whether it’s the Sonos One, or the more recently Sonos Beam, you can use those with French with your Alexa functionality. To enable that functionality, some of the Sonos users will need to download a free software update to their Sonos One and Sonos Beam speakers, and the Alexa app, which of course is available on iOS or Android, is also required.

So, you will need to go in perhaps, download the updated versions of your Sonos software, and once you do that, then you should be able to speak to Alexa in French. 

Whether it’s the Sonos One, or the Sonos Beam, you can use those with French with your Alexa functionality.
