Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #408

Hello and welcome to today’s flash briefing. It’s Tuesday and that means it is podcast day. Sorry for my voice, it’s spring here, it’s beautiful in Vancouver, but that means that my allergies are acting up like crazy, so apologies there.

Anyway, today on the podcast, I report the results of the recent survey that I carried out with you, the community here of the Alexa in Canada brand and community, and so on.

If you listened to last week’s podcast, you know that last week I set this up and I introduced a survey that would help to direct the future of our community in terms of content and other aspects going forward.

And, I was quite frankly overwhelmed by the number of responses, and that really means a lot to me. And so today on the podcast, I get into the results and I’m only too delighted to share these with you.

You can access that at AlexainCanada.ca/72. And if you want to hear the podcast episode that set it up, just go to AlexainCanada.ca/71, but as I said, I’m delighted to share the results with you today, and it’ll give you an idea of where we are going forward.

And, if you want to have some input into the future of our community, now that you kind of know the direction, I would be only too delighted to hear about your ideas.

Finally, I had a number of reviews of the flash briefing come in in the last little while, and as I always like to do, I want to give a shout out to those people that did take the time to leave a review.

This one, I want to shout out, because this is from somebody known as Virtual Squirrel, on the Amazon review page. She also is A.K.A Andrea. So Andrea, thanks very much. She originally had written a review back a while ago, back in December and she had written, “Oh Teri, what can I say? I only wish every other flash briefing was done by you. I look forward to waking up to hear the latest news on Alexa. It couldn’t be any more accurate, up-to-date, or pleasant to listen to. Thank you so much for your continued dedication. You truly make my morning with your happy, positive, and informative tidbit for the day. Please don’t ever stop. As long as you’re working, I’m listening. Kudos from the simple girl in Toronto”, which was a wonderful, wonderful review, but she took the time to go and update her review, which really, really is wonderful, and it means a lot to me.

So she gave it five stars and her update reads, “Thanks so much for Sundays. March 17th, 2019 question answered with regards to Alexa and Windows 10. My girlfriend bought an Echo Dot, but has no cell and hasn’t been able to use it since summer. Thanks to you, I can finally help her long distance to set it up. Oh Man, she going to be stoked. You’re such a guru.”

I introduced a survey that would help to direct the future of our community.

The Future of Alexa in Canada Part 2

Thanks, Andrea. “I have not yet found any flash briefing as great as yours, including even major news channels that need serious updates on form. I know you market your own flash briefing and rightly so, and I’ll always subscribe, but any tips on semi-decent flash briefings or places to find them? There are so many that are so crappy, and it’s hard to find the diamonds in all the rough. Thank you again so much for all of your help.”

Well, I haven’t answered that question Andrea, but first again, let me say thank you very much for your review. It is so wonderful, and so…, I mean the fact that you took the time to write two of these is incredible.

So thank you. To answer your question, this is a very common problem in terms of finding the diamonds in the rough, and that is why I launched another website called the Briefcast.FM, and Briefcast.FM is basically answering this question.

I am going through and I am curating the very best podcasts, sorry, not podcasts, flash briefings. I’m going through and curating the very best flash briefings, and highlighting these all in one place, on one page, so that you can subscribe to the ones that you want to listen to.

You will start to notice as you look on the flash briefing store, that the ones that are part of this flash briefing network do have a little Briefcast.FM logo on them. And they’ve also got the audio logo as well too.

You’ll hear it at the end or at the beginning of the Briefcast. So check that out, Briefcast.FM. It’s gradually expanding. I’m taking time to do this properly, so we get the good ones, but there you go.

That’s a great place for you to start, Andrea. Okay? Hope you’re all having a wonderful day. This was a little bit longer today, but I just needed to give that shout out to Andrea who gave such a wonderful review. I will talk to you again tomorrow. Take care.
