Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #392

Hey there, welcome to Sunday. For real Sunday. Yesterday I said it was Sunday, and I don’t know what was going on. I guess I was excited about Sunday, but yesterday was indeed Saturday.

Today is Sunday and on Sundays, I like to answer a question from the community. Now, the question that I’m answering today actually comes from a very recent review that I received about the flash briefing.

This is from Jaden. And, he gave the flash briefing five stars. “You’re doing a great job”, and he writes, “My wife Danielle and I listen to you every morning, and we really appreciate the tips that you provide.”

Well, thank you very much, Jaden, and I’m glad I’m able to do that. He goes on to ask a question, and Jaden says, “Is there a way to add Alexa to Windows 10?” Well, here’s the deal, Jaden. There is, but it’s a little bit tricky.

What you actually have to do, is you have to go to the Microsoft site, and you search for Alexa. I will also put a link directly to this from this flash briefing episode on VoiceinCanada.ca, as well as in the skill card.

If you click on the link in the card when you’re listening to the flash briefing, anyway, what do you do? You go to the Microsoft site and you download the Alexa app. Now, in my case, I’m actually trying this on a Mac, so it’s telling me that it’s not available for me.

It’s a little bit complicated. It’s not totally seamless for us Canadians.

Question How to Add Alexa to Windows 10

Their system requirements don’t allow it, but assuming you’ve got a PC, then you would download the app, you would install it in your PC, you’d follow the instructions, and then basically you’d go to start menu, and launch the Alexa app.

You would log into your Amazon account. And here’s the trick, if you’re outside the United States, and I’m assuming you’re in Canada, then you would need to change the language in your system to US language (US English language).

Then once you’ve done that, then you can use Alexa. So, it’s a little bit complicated. It’s not totally seamless for us Canadians, as usual, but that is what you would do. So give it a shot. If you have any problems, please let me know.

I’d be happy to hear about it, but that’s basically the way that you do it. Okay, so again, the links will be at VoiceinCanada.ca. Thank you again for the review, Jaden, and if anybody else would like to leave a review, it’s always, you know, extremely appreciated.

You can just go to VoiceinCanada.ca and you’ll see the red button there. All right. Have a great Sunday. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
