Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #391

Hello and welcome to the weekend. It is Saturday, and on Saturdays, I like to share some Easter Egg commands, things that you can say to Alexa, but before I get there, I need to give a shout out to one of the members of our community in the Facebook community, specifically.

You can always access that at AlexainCanada.ca/Community. And, yesterday in error, I mentioned that the Alexa Hunches feature is now available in Canada. And, the truth is, it’s not.

And, David Romano asked me about this, and the reason I got confused was because I was actually logged into my US account. I have both accounts for various projects, and I’m working on a research, and so on, but anyway, the ability to turn on and off the hunches feature is not yet available in Canada.

It is available in the states, but I have noticed that Alexa on her own has started giving me suggestions, or hunches, for example, if a door lock is open. So it appears that in Canada at least they’re trying it on certain accounts without you having the ability to turn it on or off.

It’s a fun thing that you can chat with her about.

So maybe this is a little bit of a beta test on Amazon’s part, but anyway, I do want to thank David Romano for pointing this out to me. I really appreciate that, and I wanted to correct my error now.

Now, let’s get to these Easter Egg commands. These are some things that you can say to Alexa for fun. You can say, “Alexa, do you have a brain?” You can say, “Alexa, what is your dream job?”

And maybe we’ll do one more today. You can say, “Alexa, what comes with great power?” And, you might know the answer to that one already. Anyway, it’s a fun thing that you can chat with her about.
