Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #388
Hey there. So I have a tip for you today, particularly if you enjoy your audio in a way that you can improve your audio when you’re listening to music, but through Alexa, when you have voice-controlled music listening. And here’s the deal, DTS Play-Fi.
So DTS is a company that is one of the leaders in audio in terms of music. And, that technology is built into a lot of different audio receivers.
And what’s really interesting is that their technology, known as DTS Play-Fi, which allows you to stream your music to these various audio receivers, can now work with Alexa, but on top of that, here’s the really interesting part, is that you can now set Alexa to initiate playback of your music on a particularly preferred speaker, so that you can set Alexa essentially, to play back your music on your audio system.
And this is compatible now, with any of the audio equipment that has the DTS Play-Fi function. And so, some of the companies that have this integrated into the receivers are Ace Anthem, Definitive Technology, MartinLogan Bravado, McIntosh, Onkyo, Paradigm, Pioneer, Polk Audio, Sonos, Soundcast, it goes on and on.
You can now set Alexa to initiate playback of your music on a particularly preferred speaker.
So if you have one of these products, then look into setting this up. They have just announced that this functionality is now coming to Canada, and it should be available.
So the way you do this is you go into your Alexa app and in your audio settings, you’re going to choose the preferred speaker. And then when you ask Alexa to play the music, it will play it through your audio system, which typically will have a better speaker than, you know, for example, a little simple Amazon Echo Dot.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
