Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #346

Hey there, so I’ve got a nice quick, short and sweet flash briefing for you today. If you are wondering if Canadians are aware of voice assistance. Well, here’s some stats for you. This study is actually called the 2018 Canada Internet Fact Book and it’s published by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.

Pretty official sounding. And, what they found was that in 2017, about 55% of Canadians knew about voice assistance devices like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and so on. And, in 2018, this number has risen or had risen in 2018 to 77%. And, that goes along with my own personal experience, just anecdotally.

I don’t know if you’ve experienced the same thing or not, but you know, a year ago when I started the podcast, the flash briefing, and so on, I had to explain to a lot of people what I was actually talking about in terms of Amazon Alexa. And, I don’t have to do that anymore. People are aware of it.

So, that’s pretty cool. I mean, you know, 77% of people are now aware of this device. This is a common household thing that people just speak about, so it’s pretty cool. Anyway, I wanted to let you know about that stat. I thought it was interesting.

And, of course, I want to give a shout out to the latest person that left me a review for the flash briefing.

When I started the podcast, the flash briefing, and so on, I had to explain to a lot of people what I was actually talking about in terms of Amazon Alexa.

Canadians Know about Voice Assistants

This person is an anonymous person because it was just signed by an Amazon customer, but the review is a five-star review. It’s a nice way to start the day, and it goes on to say, “I added to the morning briefing right after weather and before the Fox News.

Nice bit of info to start each day” and then they suggested perhaps adding an evening one as well. And, boy, I would love to do that. I just don’t have the time, unfortunately, with all the podcasts and flash briefings and blog and everything else that I’m doing.

I totally agree with you. I think it’d be fantastic to do two a day. I just don’t have the time, so I’m sorry I can’t do that right now. Maybe in the future, I’ll be able to do that. Anyway. There you go. So if you would like to leave a review for the flash briefing, these reviews are so, so, so very much appreciated.

I really mean that from the bottom of my heart. If you haven’t left a review and you feel so inclined to do so, then please do so, and as I said, it’s very much appreciated. You simply have to go to VoiceinCanada.ca, you click on the red button that says “Leave a Review” and that’s all you do.

It’ll take you to Amazon website where you can simply leave that review and of course I would love to give you a shout out as well. Alright, enjoy your day and I will talk to you tomorrow.
