Hello, hello. Hope you are doing well today. Today I want to tell you about some stats that Amazon has finally released. In the past, they have been a little bit, I don’t know if secretive is the right word, but they haven’t been that forthcoming with how many sales of Amazon Alexa products there have been. And, for the first time, they are starting to release some of this information.
In fact, there was an interview I carried out with David Limp, who is the Senior Vice President of Devices and Services at Amazon. And, he said that Amazon has now sold more than 100 million devices with Alexa onboard.
That is crazy big. Crazy, crazy big. And on top of that, he reported that Amazon actually outstripped its most optimistic expectations for the Echo Dot during the holiday season.
He was quoted as saying, you know, despite pushing palettes of Echo Dots onto 747s and getting them from Hong Kong to North America as quickly as possible, they were still selling out of them. So, it’s very interesting.
I find this stuff fascinating in terms of how quickly this technology is being adopted. Just some other stats that were put out as well. Amazon says there are now over 150 products with Alexa built into them.

And, there are over 28,000 different devices made to work with Alexa from 4,500 or more different manufacturers, and as we know, the Alexa skills worldwide have exceeded 70,000 up until this point. So, well, just more stats, more fuel to the fire here that Amazon is doing some incredible things.
And with the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) going on with a battle going on between Amazon and Google, it will be interesting to see what kind of new stories come out from that, and I will be sure to report those to you as well should there be, and I’m sure there will be, interesting Alexa stories.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
