Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #319
Well, it’s no surprise. Amazon who had a pretty darn successful holiday season when it comes to people buying Echo devices and Alexa devices. Amazon put out a press release that talks about their sales for this holiday season. And, some pretty impressive numbers have come out of this.
They said that customers purchased millions more Amazon devices this holiday season compared to last year, which just goes to show, I mean, this voice assistant world is gaining more and more traction.
The best selling Amazon devices in Canada, this holiday season. Well, the all-new Echo Dot, the fire TV stick 4K with the all-new Alexa voice remote, the Echo, and the Fire HD8 tablet. So, needless to say, Alexa is making her presence known here in Canada.
As part of this press release, Amazon also put out a couple of other interesting little tidbits. They said that it was a record holiday season for smart home devices and the top-selling devices were the Amazon Smart Plug, which of course works with Alexa.
Another type of smart plug, the Teckin, and the Philips Hue light bulb. These were the best sellers and of course these work with Alexa. And, this was just an interesting fact. They put in their press release.

It says that customers around the world ask Alexa, “How many days or sleeps until Christmas this holiday season?” So that seemed to be a really popular question, but the customers in the United Kingdom seem to be the most excited because they were asking twice as many as customers in any other country. I’m wondering what that says about those living in the UK.

Listen on your Echo Device! Easy as 1-2-3!
1. Open your Alexa app and click on the Menu button > Settings > Flash Briefing.
2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
