Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #238
Hey there, how you doing? It is Sunday and welcome to another flash briefing. On Sundays, I like to answer some of the questions that are being posted on the Facebook community page. And by the way, if you’re not a member of our Alexa in Canada community page, check it out by just going to AlexainCanada.ca/Community.
It’ll take you right there. Anyway, one of the questions that I have noticed recently in the community group is, “Will Alexa work without Prime?” And this is from Mike in the group. So Mike, and there’s a lot of responses, which is great. I really appreciate that. I know Don responded, and Patrick responded, and Susan, but basically, the bottom line is; yes, Alexa will work without Prime, but I know this can cause a lot of confusion.
Yes, you get the basic functionality of Alexa. In fact, I shouldn’t say basic. You get the full functionality of Alexa. The thing that will not be available to you if you’re not a member of Prime, is the Prime Music. And, so, that may or may not be an issue for you because if you already subscribed to Spotify, or to some other music provider, then you may not need Amazon Prime.
Yes, absolutely you can use Alexa without Prime, but Prime is going to give you some added benefits in that you’ll be able to access some more music.
However, if you do subscribe to Amazon Prime, you get the Amazon Prime Music included. Now, there are some differences between Amazon Prime Music and Unlimited Music, and I’ve talked about that previously on the flash briefing, and you can always look up those on VoiceinCanada.ca, and you can go back and see some of the old flash briefings, but the bottom line is; yes, absolutely you can use Alexa without Prime, but Prime is going to give you some added benefits in that you’ll be able to access some more music.

2. Click on “Add Content” and search for “Voice in Canada”.
3. Click on “Voice in Canada” and the Enable button.
