Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #299
Hey there, so I’ve got another flash briefing today about routines. And, if you listened to yesterday’s, you know that you can actually set up Alexa to end your audio if you have that as part of your routine. So if you set Alexa to start playing the radio or music or whatever, you can actually have a command set in, built in, programmed in, to have Alexa stop, but here’s one thing that I didn’t tell you yesterday, is that you can set a delay.
So if you want to have Alexa play your flash briefings, give you your traffic, give you your weather, giving your news, and then play the radio, but then wait maybe half an hour or 45 minutes, or an hour before turning it off, you can do that as well. And the way you do that is simply by going into the routines again. So you do that by going into your Alexa app, clicking on the “settings”, clicking on “routines”, choosing on the routine you want to edit or create a new one.
And when you go in and you’re choosing what Alexa will do, what actions she will do when you click on that, you have the option to click on “wait” and when you click on wait, you can now choose a time period. And, right now it looks like you can go up to four hours, that’s how much of a wait you can put on this.
If you want to have Alexa play your flash briefings, give you your traffic, give you your weather, giving your news, and then play the radio, but then wait maybe half an hour or 45 minutes, or an hour before turning it off, you can do that as well.

And, essentially you set that up and then you can follow that up with the action that we talked about yesterday, to end your audio or whatever else you want. And that’s the way that you can program in a delay. So I think that’s a really, really cool feature. And, just like yesterday, I wanted to finished with another shout out, another review. This one is by Pablo Schumarov. I hope I said your name right, Pablo.
This came on December 8th and he gave this skill, this flash briefing, five stars, and he simply wrote, “Excellent. Great skill” And Pablo, I really appreciate those kind words and I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.
And again, if you want to leave a review as well, go to VoiceinCanada.ca. Click on the red button in the middle, leave a review and that’ll take you right to the page. Very simple. You just simply type in your review, click submit, and you’re done. And I really appreciate that.
So, I look forward to speaking with you again tomorrow. Have a great day. Talk to you then.
