Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #31
Happy Monday, it’s the beginning of the week and hope you had a great weekend. Today I want to highlight a particular feature of the Amazon Echo devices that you may or may not be aware of and why you might want to use it.
And that particular feature is the 3.5 millimeter audio output jack that is at the back of the devices.
So regardless of which device you have, whether you have the Echo, the Echo Dot or the Echo Plus, all of these devices have this 3.5 millimeter output at the back of the speaker.
So why is this useful? Well, I think this is most useful, particularly for the Echo Dot.
The Echo Dot, as you may know, is the smallest of these devices. It’s about the size of a hockey puck and because it’s small, the speakers aren’t that great. It’s also the cheapest one.
I can guarantee it’ll make the audio sound better.

So it’s the most economical way to get an Alexa device or an or an Echo device but the speakers aren’t great.
And if you going to place this device near a home audio system near some other type of speaker that is more powerful, then you don’t even have to worry about pairing this through bluetooth.
I did talk about that previously in another flash briefing, and I think I’ve also talked about that on the podcast.
But if you place your device next to another speaker, you can simply get a 3.5 millimeter cable that’s the size of a mini headphone jack and you plug that out, or you plug it into the back of your Echo device and you plug it into the input of your other speaker and as long as you have that input turned on on your other speaker, you now have great audio from whatever Echo device you have.
So give it a shot, I can guarantee it’ll make the audio sound better for the Dot for the Echo and the Echo Plus.
Those speakers are pretty good, but still, if you’ve got a good audio system you can be plugging it into that audio system. Talk to you again tomorrow.
