Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #200

Alright, well this is exciting. Here we are, episode 200 of the flash briefing. I cannot believe it. We’re already at 200 and I sincerely hope that you are enjoying the flash briefing as much as I am enjoying recording these each and every day for you. I hope you are learning a ton about Alexa, and you are getting a lot out of this.

For this 200th episode, I want to talk about lists in Alexa. And, I know there has been a lot of discussion about this on the Facebook group, and, this is a big one. People have been wanting this feature in Canada forever since Alexa came to Canada.

We had not had the opportunity to create custom lists, so essentially, anything that you wanted to add to a list had to be done either through the native shopping list or the native to do list, but I’m here to tell you that you can officially create custom lists.

So if you want to make a list for a Superstore, if you want to make a list for Canadian Tire, if you want to make a specific list for Costco, or any other lists that you want to make, you can make them, and it’s very simple.

All you do, is you say the command, “Alexa, create a list” or “Alexa, make a list” Alexa will ask you for a name for that list. You give the name and then when you want to add something to your list, you simply say, for example, it’s hockey season coming up.

So I had just said, “Alexa, add hockey tape to my Canadian tire list” and boom, it was done.

Anything that you wanted to add to a list had to be done either through the native shopping list or the native to do list, but I’m here to tell you that you can officially create custom lists.

And then you can also delete things from the list if you want to. Then, when you’re out, you can log into your Alexa app, you can pull up the appropriate list and you can use that and it makes things so much more easily, much more efficient, much more simple, when it comes to keeping track of things you need to get when you’re outside of the home.

So, enjoy this. I think this is a really, really great feature and I hope you will use it and you will find it as useful as I do. Way to go. Thanks for being here. Episode 200. As I said, awesome and even more awesome would be if you leave a review for the flash briefing, like 200 episodes now. If you have enjoyed this, if you have got a little bit of value out of it, nothing would make me happier than to have a review, an honest review from you.

The easiest way to do that is to go to VoiceinCanada.ca, or you can just click on the card in the Alexa app, and then you will see in the middle of your screen a red button that says, “Leave a review” with a little smiley face. And if you would do that, I would be so, so appreciative. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Enjoy this new feature and use these lists, and I will talk to you tomorrow. Take care.
