Voice In Canada Flash Briefing #777

Hey there, Dr. Teri Fisher here with your flash briefing for Sunday and today is a day to answer questions from the community.

And one of the questions that was in our Facebook group, and just by the way, if you’re not part of our Facebook group head on over there, you just go to AlexainCanada.ca/Community.

This question is from Andrew and he writes, “Hey, can a person use Amazon Alexa to read books and you know, what are the options for doing that?”

And I appreciate the responses from those that answered the question in the chat, Patrick Doyle and Pete Brady and Cathy and Rob Grant all of them threw in their two cents and I really appreciate that.

There are two main options to have Alexa read you books.

One is to simply attach Alexa to your Kindle account, when you do that, however, Alexa’s going to read the entire book in her voice and to be perfectly honest, that can get a little bit monotonous and particularly, through reading a whole book.

You can use the audible subscription, you can use your Kindle account.

How Can Alexa Read Books

So it is one way that you can do it and it’s totally will work but you’re going to get it in Alexa’s voice.

The other option is to subscribe to an audible account, an Amazon audible account.

And this is where you can actually get Alexa now to play the narrated recordings of books.

So you’re not getting Alexa’s voice, you’re getting a narrator who has read the book and it has been recorded, and now that is being played over your speaker.

So those are your two main options, you can use the audible subscription, you can use your Kindle account or your Kindle books and that’s how you can get Alexa to read some books to you.

So I hope that’s helpful, again, thanks to everybody in the community that participated in that discussion and hope you’re doing well.

Talk to you tomorrow.
